Groundwork worked with Cadburys as part of the Olympic Games legacy to encourage people to get out and enjoy their outdoor spaces.

The national £3 million partnership with Cadbury came to a crescendo during the Olympics. For two years, as part of the company’s sponsorship of the Games, Groundwork employed ‘games co-ordinators’ who recruited and supported members of the community to run local fun events, providing opportunities for people of different ages and backgrounds to get involved in local outdoor activities. In two years almost 5,000 supporters were recruited, of whom more than 50% intend to sustain their voluntary activity with Groundwork beyond the life of the programme.
