Groundwork ‘gold star’ for corporate volunteers

Posted on 08 August 2016

Groundwork is celebrating the work of a range of corporate volunteers with a dedicated week (8-12 August) honouring their commitment to helping create cleaner, greener places across the UK.

Each day this week the charity will be celebrating ‘Groundwork Corporate Stars’ to showcase the work of Deutsche Bank, Marks & Spencer, PwC, Siemens and Skanska

Volunteers from each organisation have worked hard over the past 12 months to give something back to local communities by offering their time and skills to work with Groundwork.

Graham Duxbury, CEO of Groundwork UK said:

"Our amazing corporate partners give so much to both Groundwork and the local communities that they help along the way.

"This week, we would like to take a moment to really thank them for the work that they do to help local people grow and develop and help improve the fabric of some of most challenged and challenging neighbourhoods across the UK.

"Partnership working is in Groundwork’s DNA.  It was a founding principle of our approach over thirty years ago and it’s still fundamental to the way we work now.

"We provide the gateway for many organisations to play an active role in their communities, while providing employees with exciting and unforgettable volunteering opportunities that make a real difference to both individuals and communities that need it most.”
