Transforming care home gardens

Posted on 01 February 2016

Groundwork are excited to announce their involvement in a national project that is set to transform outdoor spaces at care homes across the UK to support people with dementia.

After being awarded a grant of £1.3m from the Big Lottery Fund, national charity, Learning through Landscapes will make-over the outdoor areas of 30 care homes in order to make them accessible and suitable for those living with dementia and ultimately improve their wellbeing.

They have called upon local partners to help make the project come to fruition and Groundwork will be managing and delivering the landscaping works, ensuring that the vision and needs of local care homes become a glorious green reality.

With around a third of the 800,000 people in the UK with dementia live in a care home, this is a project that will truly change lives.
