Young person skills based volunteering

Use your skills for good

Posted on 06 October 2016

While practical team volunteering challenges remain as popular and relevant as ever, more businesses are looking to complement these activities with volunteering that uses and develops professional skills.

Skilled volunteer opportunities can be an investment to attract, retain and develop the best employees. While simple ad hoc opportunities can give employees an opportunity to share their knowledge in a new context and bring new ideas back into their regular sphere of business.

A team of young professionals from Deloitte, as part of the BeyondMe programme, are using their business skills to help Groundwork to explore the viability of a national charity shop model.

Groundwork UK has a number of no cost skilled volunteer opportunities for employees to undertake such as being part of a Dragon's Den panel, mentoring a young green leader or becoming a trustee.
