Ann's Monster Ultra

On Sunday 28 September 2014 I will be running the ECF Monster Ultra - 68 kilometres from Ely Cathedral to the outskirts of Cambridge and back to raise money for the Triangle Community Garden. My Mum (Margaret Byrne) has been involved with the Triangle Community Garden for , so when she told me that one of their fundraising projects had fallen through I decided to use this event to help them raise much needed funds.

The Triangle Community Garden is located in Ransoms Recreation Ground, off Alexandra Road, in Hitchin. It is a thriving community garden, cultivated by local people of all ages and abilities, hosting craft and food growing workshops, and running social/therapeutic horticulture projects.

The Triangle Community Garden is currently fundraising for the Treasured Spaces X Marks the Spot appeal, which will help improve the central area of the community garden. Every £1 we raise, will be matched by £2 from Treasured Spaces. Your support will help transform the area with new mosaics to be designed and completed by the community, improved surfacing and a shade sail to create an outdoor classroom area. New sleeper retaining walls around the gathering area will act as seating, and create new planting beds for sensory and pollinator-friendly planting.
