Inspiring and Supporting Volunteering in London
Groundwork London is an NCVO accredited volunteer centre. We work in partnership with many of London's Local Authorities to provide volunteering services that support and promote local volunteering.

Team Wandle ( Croydon, Merton, Sutton & Wandsworth)
Following the success of the London 2012 Olympic Games Makers, we have seen a resurgence in volunteering in the capital. Over the last three years, our Volunteering Local services have engaged over 10,000 volunteers and 2,000 voluntary organisations in 9 London boroughs. We continue to build on this momentum, helping Londoners from all walks of life to discover volunteering.
Through the delivery of our tailored Volunteering Local services, we help bring people together and support them to take local action, discover, new interests, meet people and to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of other Londoners. We also work hard to develop and promote a variety of volunteering opportunities that directly help unemployed Londoners gain valuable experience and the skills they need to get back into work.
Our Volunteering Local services share the following objectives:
- To help individuals to become volunteers in their communities.
- To assist charities, organisations and the private sector to successfully engage volunteers.
- To broker and offer a variety of quality volunteering placements that are suited to a wide range of volunteers.
- To provide specialist support for those individuals and groups who require additional support to either accommodate volunteers or to volunteer.
