Groundwork Creswell and Ashfield and Mansfield were formed in 1990 and 1992 on the back of severe job losses in the region of the coal mining and textiles industry. It is part of a federation of trusts working throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each trust works with it's partners to improve the quality of the local environment, the lives of local people and the success of local business.
In 2006, Groundwork Creswell came together with Groundwork Ashfield & Mansfield and their subsidiaries (Crestra, Enprove, Groundcare Ltd) and for the interim became known as the Groundwork Creswell Group. The main activities of the Group range from training and employment programmes to construction, business support and community projects.
