Groundwork in Greater Manchester is a social regeneration charity that changes lives and changes places. We have over 30 years experience of supporting young people and adults into positive outcomes. Groundwork employs over 230 staff across Greater Manchester and we have invested £12.18m into local communities in Greater Manchester over the last 12 months alone.
Our vision is to create communities which are strong enough to shape their own destiny, where everyone can reach their potential and everywhere is vibrant and green. We have worked across Greater Manchester for the last 30 years helping communities find practical solutions to the challenges they face. We provide training, create jobs, reduce energy & waste, re-connect people with nature, build bridges within communities and transform whole neighbourhoods.
We have a long and established track record of delivering significant outcomes linked to Employment and Skills across Greater Manchester. We are solution focused, building resilience within local communities and neighbourhoods. We provide value for money through our high quality services. We have the necessary infrastructure and capacity to deliver scalable projects across a large geographic area covering the Greater Manchester footprint.
Our diverse partnerships
Our strategic partnerships with Greater Manchester’s Local Authorities allow us to inform and influence policy development through delivering innovation and best practice on the ground. Our partnerships are varied from grassroots level community groups through to large multi-national businesses in order to achieve results. Clients and funders include: Department for Education, Department for Work and Pensions, Local Authorities, BIG Lottery, Registered Providers and Corporate Partners such as Price Waterhouse Coopers, Sainsbury’s, Seetec and Ingeus.
European Structural Investment Fund 2014-2020
Groundwork is a well respected and trusted third sector partner that has been making a difference to Greater Manchester residents and organisations for over 30 years. The European Union (EU) has recently outlined their ESIF 2014-2020 Strategy, which prioritises employment, innovation, education and social inclusion actions for a smart, sustainable and inclusive economy. Groundwork Greater Manchester’s objectives and delivery closely reflect these EU priorities and are aligned with regional and national policies in the UK.
We are eager to work with Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) to deliver their ambitions and priorities that they have set out in the ESIF strategy.
