Adriana's Story

AdrianaAdrianna joined Groundwork Leeds in January 2007 and began working with the 'Dig-It' trainees and offering support to young people on an employment programme, helping them with their CV writing skills and job searches. Adrianna then volunteered on the Forest Schools programme, practicing bushcraft skills with year 7 pupils as well as undertaking some paid sessional work, assisting a youth worker with some of the community development programmes.

As a result, she landed as job as an e2e (entry to employment) tutor at Best Ltd, in Bradford.

Adrianna was drawn to Groundwork because of our work with young people and felt that volunteering at Groundwork would be a good way of gaining the experience necessary for a permanent job working with young people. Adrianna feels that she gained valuable experience volunteering for Groundwork and wouldn’t have been able to work at Best if it wasn’t for Groundwork – a great example of the value of volunteering.

Subsequently, Adrianna has now rejoined Groundwork in a paid capacity as an Essential Skills Tutor!
