Location:

Closing Date:

Salary:
£18,807-£20,766 p.a.

The Trust wishes to appoint a Community Ranger having secured Access to Nature Funding to deliver the River Routes in Stockton Project, implementing key access improvements and community engagement and training initiatives adjacent to the river corridors in Stockton. This is one of the priority projects under the Stockton River Corridors Project partnership initiative between Groundwork North East, British Waterways, Environment Agency and Stockton Borough Council.

The River Routes in Stockton project is a three year initiative, developed in response to a number of community groups who identified a need for greater access to and environmental improvements around the river corridors in Stockton. The project will provide the framework for developing physical linkages and connectivity between communities who currently have little contact with nature, to maximise the level of access and enjoyment through the development of riverside walks.

Working to the Senior Community Ranger, the successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in an environmental field and will preferably have experience of project development and management.  He or she will also have proven experience of successful project delivery, and knowledge of ecological survey techniques and creation of land management plans.  Experience of preparing and delivering written and verbal reports is essential.

Candidates wishing to have an informal discussion about the role should contact Anne-Louise Orange on 01642 524965.

For an application pack contact Laura Parker at Groundwork North East, Grosvenor House, 29 Market Place, Bishop Auckland, DL14 7NP, telephone 01388 662666 or by email to laura.parker@groundwork.org.uk.
