Your first-hand knowledge of education, the environment and climate change will make Groundwork’s Zero Waste programme an even greater success.
Groundwork help people and organisations make changes that mean they can live and work in a greener way. Your part in this will be to manage the delivery of our Zero Waste programme; helping schools involved develop and facilitate education programmes.
Specifically, this will see you supporting teachers, parents and caretakers via training, formalising partnerships and liaising with the Department for Children Schools and Families and local authorities. You’ll also manage the installation of in-school Zero Waste systems and report on the progress of each one, recruit volunteers, help secure funding and handle publicity activities such as organising the annual Zero Waste conference.
While a teaching qualification would be ideal, you’ll certainly have worked with children in an educational setting and managed education or community projects. Self-motivated, you’ll be keen to promote the programme, the environment and tackling climate change. You’ll also need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
In return, we can offer outstanding benefits including a competitive salary, generous annual leave, a contributory pension and the scope to continuing development of your professional skills.
