Blue Sky was set up to give paid grounds maintenance and recycling work to people coming out of prison so that they can move successfully into employment. Together, we help them break the cycle of re-offending and achieve long-term benefits for society. It’s a vital service which could only be enhanced by your strengths in project management.
As an award winner we have been recognised as “an exceptional social enterprise,” by Charles Clarke MP, former Home Secretary. We have ambitious plans for the future and are looking for a talented individual to play a key role in helping to deliver them.
About the job
You’ll be working with a total caseload of 147 ex-offenders over the lifetime of the project - so an essential requirement for this job is an understanding of the many barriers that ex-offenders face when trying to re-integrate into the world of employment. You will liaise with offender managers in the Probation Service and advisors in the Job Centres and ensure that all targeted outcomes are kept on track. In addition you’ll make sure all referrals comply with project eligibility criteria, develop a comprehensive database of outcomes and see that all evidence requirements are in accordance with ESF regulations.
About you
You’ll need an understanding of the reporting needs of funders and well developed data and information recording and management skills. You should have a good track record in budget management and a background in delivering soft skills provisions, CV preparation and interview techniques. Experience of providing a job brokering services and a genuine desire to help turn around lives are essential.
