United Futures is a community partnership between Groundwork and water company United Utilities, supporting environmental projects in neighbourhoods that are being disrupted by United Utilities work.
It funds environmental projects across the North-West in neighbourhoods that are being disrupted by United Utilities work, meaning that the inconvenience of having the road dug up is more than compensated for by the environmental improvements that follow.
The programme particularly focuses on neighbourhoods suffering high levels of deprivation, where the work carried out can make a real difference.
From community clean-ups to public space improvements, the United Futures team works with communities to develop sustainable, tailored projects that enhance the work of United Utilities for the benefit of local people.
The programme has seen work worth £4.5 million carried out on more than 140 projects.
