The Bridle Walk Naturalistic Play Area has helped to transform an underused expanse of grassland into a community facility that can be used by people of all ages. Local residents had a number of opportunities to get involved with the design process of the project, which has helped to raise awareness and ownership of the site. Over 3,000 trees and shrubs have been planted on the site, which a local school contributed to by allowing every child at the school to plant at least one tree. The project has resulted in a more naturalistic setting being created for the play provision through the inclusion of tree and shrub planting and the use of grass and grass mat surfacing.
