Groundwork’s Young People Friendly
Neighbourhoods programme encourages interaction between young
people and adults by giving young people the skills and opportunity
to make a positive contribution to their local
communities.
The programme, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, empowers young people to make their neighbourhoods better places to live by identifying and delivering environmental and social improvements. They do this by undertaking audits, community consultations, devising action plans and organising profile-raising activities.
The young people work in partnership with local agencies such as the Police, local authorities or housing associations thereby becoming more active in local decision-making and helping to create more cohesive communities.
Young People Friendly Neighbourhoods aims to:
Increase the skills and confidence of the young people
who take partFor further information contact Garry Campbell on 0121 236 8565.
