Wendy has lived almost all her life in Nottingham. She was a Gedling Borough councillor for 35years serving as Planning Chairman, portfolio holder for Leisure, Deputy Leader and numerous outside bodies. One of these was the Association for Public Service Excellence as the Vice-chairman of the Midlands Region. Since retiring from politics she has been made Honorary Alderman. She has recently resigned from the chairmanship of the East Midlands Museum Service, a position she held for eleven years, but remains a member of the Sherwood Forest Initiative. As a grandmother, and the past Chairman of the Nottinghamshire Association for the Welfare of Children in Hospital she is very interested in provision for young people for their leisure activities, and helping them into employment.
