Every year we deliver thousands of projects that create better places, improve people's prospects and encourage greener, healthier lifestyles.
This means that every day we are changing people's lives for the better.
Here are just a few of their stories:
'I plan to become a member of the Friends of Park group and get involved with arranging events for next – I can’t wait!'
HMPasties is a social enterprise managed by Groundwork. It was set up to 'bring out the good inside' by employing ex-offenders to make and sell delicious handmade Cornish-style pasties.
"You're drowning but everyone else around you is swimming. It's painful when no one understands you."
'I definitely think more retired could benefit from joining Men in Sheds – it’s important to keep the brain ticking over'
"I’m 70 next year and I’m not looking to give up gardening yet!"
Subhan is a Groundwork Young Green Leader advocating for the environment where he lives.
"I didn't have any hope or aspirations. But now there's no stopping me. I feel very optimistic about what the future holds."
"I’m helping the river... but it’s also helped me."
"When you get older, there’s a fear about who to speak to about things like bills."
Chynna and Tom from Northumberland volunteered with Groundwork's 'Blooming Well' project that helps people with dementia.
"I was just one of those kids that was always getting into trouble. I didn't have a plan. But as soon as I started volunteering I realised - I can help people."
Issues at home meant Meryem was distracted at school and predicted to not reach her potential in her GCSEs. Our Achievement Coaches helped her to succeed.
