Routeway into Construction

As part of GMCA’s Adult Education Budget 2019/20 delivery, in partnership with The Growth Company, Groundwork would like to invite referrals for the forthcoming 8-week construction training programme.

Details are as follows:

Course dates:

  • Monday 2nd September 2019
  • Monday 25th November 2019
  • Monday 2nd March 2020

Attendance: Monday-Thursday 8:30 – 16:00; Friday 8:30 – 12:00.

The course is a blend of practical hands on experience and classroom based tuition.

Skills and development areas include improving confidence, developing working relationships, core employability skills, goals and aspiration setting.


Accredited qualifications include:

Level 1 Certificate in Multi-trades in Construction Activities by NOCN Awarding Body (124 GLH) 

Modules include:

  • Painting and decorating
  • Tiling 
  • Plastering
  • 1st and 2nd fix joinery
     

Accredited Numeracy tuition (from Entry 1 to Level 2) through OCR Awarding Body.

Structured training in Work Preparation Skills. 


Licences:

All learners will be funded for their CSCS test and Green Card and Level One Award ‘Health and Safety in a Construction Environment’.


Groundwork will provide all necessary PPE and cover the cost of travel to the course.

We provide bespoke support and training for individuals aged 19+ who are unemployed or economically inactive and are seeking a return to the labour market.

We deliver vocationally related skills training reflective of the needs of local businesses. We also provide individualised information, advice and guidance to each individual to aid a positive outcome. This programme is jointly funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and the European Union Social Fund (ESF).
