Programme Lead Culture and Heritage

Role: Programme Lead (Culture and Heritage)

Salary: £22,715 - £26,092 pro rata

Hours: 30 hours per week; may include weekend and evening work as required dependent on programme. Fixed-term 18 month contract. Standard terms and conditions apply.

Location: South Tyneside and Newcastle.

Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle has been changing places and changing lives in Tyneside for 25 years. We are a busy, diverse charity with an excellent track record in partnerships and the delivery of quality projects, the latest of which is Jarrow Hall Anglo-Saxon Farm, Village and Bede Museum; a world-unique visitor attraction and cultural heritage site which we relaunched to great acclaim in 2017.

As we gear up for an exciting second year at this very special place, we are looking for a motivated and flexible individual to work with the Operations Manager (Culture and Heritage), responsible for the direction and development of Jarrow Hall. The role is a highly-visible one which will see you working alongside the Programme Lead (Farm and Education), staff and volunteers to help build a world-class venue; one delivering an ever-more exceptional experience to our broad audience of families, academics, cultural tourists, schoolchildren and more.

Working alongside your colleagues and the wider Groundwork team, the things you do every single day will help build towards this long-term vision, and you will be instrumental in creating a legacy of well-managed and resilient heritage, skilled-up individuals and unforgettable experiences that truly change lives.

This role is part-funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund (run by the Museums Association). The role is 30 hours (4 days) per week for an 18-month fixed-term contract. This contract will be reviewed after a year with the potential for extension or being made a permanent role.
