Salary: £18,260 per annum 
37 hours per week

Delivery across Groundwork West Midlands managed sites, but with a focus on:

Telford Millennium Community, East Ketley

Groundwork West Midlands are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our expanding Land Management team. As Ranger, you will lead on the management, maintenance and development of public open spaces for the benefit of nature and local people.  This role will focus on the management of two new sites on behalf of the Land Trust.

 You will need to have a qualification in Countryside Management (or equivalent), along with a varity of other qualifications/skills as outlined on person specification , effective administrative and organisational skills, and an ability to prioritise your own work programme.

 As part of this role, you will:

  • To manage, maintain and develop a variety of habitats and open spaces according to the business/management plans of the funder together with updating plans as sites evolve.
  • To undertake day-to-day management of the Groundwork West Midlands managed sites and act as site liaison responsible for resolving issues for each site.
  • To oversee and deliver the implementation of the landscape management contract arrangements on behalf of the Land Trust through annual task orientated work programming and delivery using contractors (as needed).
  • To actively engage, encourage and involve the local community in the development of the sites as nature reserves, which meets the needs of local people as a wildlife and community resource.

Competence with a range of relevant small power tools is essential, alongside a desire to take a leading role in the development of the new sites.  Regular travel across the region is required for this role, so you must have a full driving licence.  A work vehicle will be available.
