Sixteen year old Paulina sets a great example to other young people.
She is currently volunteering with Groundwork and helping to deliver the Prince's Trust programme in Wigan and says that helping other people has made her happier.
Volunteering has made a massive difference to my life. I've always enjoyed helping other people and being involved at Groundwork is an amazing experience. I look forward to going in every day. Working as part of the team and feeling that you are making a difference in other peoples' lives is very rewarding. I'm learning a lot and it has really helped to improve my self confidence. I am really grateful to Groundwork for giving me this opportunity.
Paulina plans to go to college in September and eventually wants to become a paramedic. She says that volunteering is providing her with fantastic work experience and helping to develop her interpersonal skills, which will help in her future career.
