Age of Opportunity

Groundwork CLM is a delivery partner in the Age of Opportunity project in Lancashire. It is part of the nationwide Building Better Opportunities scheme which brings together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle the poverty and social exclusion faced by the most disadvantaged people in England.

The Age of Opportunity project engages older people, aged 50 and above and with low or no skills, to support them in moving towards and into employment. The project is focused on the barriers to training, work and employment, and takes an integrated approach to addressing these barriers.

Our mentors will work closely with you to tackle any barriers you may have. This includes things like poor health, lack of confidence, outdated skills, age discrimination and caring responsibilities.

You might want to acquire new skills, or improve your confidence, whether it's to find work, or perhaps just to go out of your front door for the first time in years. For others, it can be about increasing motivation and self esteem after years of being out of work, or suddenly being made redundant.

Whatever your individual needs, we can help.
