Tim King did so well on a programme that helps over 50s get back into work, that he was offered a job as a Mentor. He now helps other people on the programme that once helped him.
Tim had returned to England after a distinguished career spent mainly in Zimbabwe and New Zealand, He started applying for jobs, but struggled to find the type of work he wanted and he began to lose confidence in himself.
After hearing about the Age of Opportunity programme, Tim got in touch with Groundwork and received 1-to-1 mentoring support. This helped him to rebuild his confidence, get access to training courses and develop his CV. Tim thrived on the programme and Groundwork were so impressed with Tim that they offered him a job as Mentor on the programme. It means that he now uses his skills and experience to help people who are in the same position that he once found himself in.
I’m so thankful that I found the Age of Opportunity programme. It helped me to get back on my feet and my confidence is now soaring. It’s a well known fact that when you’re in work, it’s easier to find work and this contract with Groundwork will help me in so many ways to get on with my life and seek out a good future for myself and my wife.
