Bags of Help community grant scheme

Groundwork administers a fantastic grant scheme for projects with a community benefit.

Do you know of a local community project that would benefit from funding? If so, take a look at Bags of Help, Tesco's local community grant scheme.

We’re delighted that the money raised from the carrier bag charge in Tesco stores will be used to fund thousands of local projects in communities right across the UK. Projects that bring benefit to their community will get the green light – these range from improving community buildings and outdoor spaces to buying new equipment, training coaches or volunteers and hosting community events.

Following a public vote, three projects in each region will receive a grant every two months, with first place receiving up to £4,000, second place up to £2,000 and third place up to £1,000.

We are administering the funding and you can find all the details on our dedicated website.

Groundwork has over 30 years’ experience of working with communities to change places and change lives for the better. We know that people are a part of the place they live, work and play so we’re really excited to be involved in this scheme, helping people access valuable funding to run projects that improve community spaces.
