Groundwork London are working in partnership with the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham to deliver this project which is funded under the Environment Policy and Governance strand of the European Commission's LIFE+ programme. The project will see three housing estates in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham become demonstration sites for affordable, light engineering climate change adaptation measures, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
Groundwork London’s Landscape Architects are leading on the assessment, design and implementation of the schemes, which will include green roofs, green walls, rain gardens, and other measures aimed at improving the estates' resilience to future changes in our climate. The project is also benefitting from the expertise of Dusty Gedge and Gary Grant of The Green Roof Consultancy.
The works include undertaking an audit/assessment of existing green infrastructure on and in the vicinity of the estates; the identification and prioritisation of design options; and finally the design and delivery of each of the short-listed options.
