Reflective Radiator Panels
35% of heat lost in the home is through un-insulated walls. Radiator panels can help reflect heat into the room, reducing the loss outside and saving around £30 per year on your energy bills.
You don't need to remove your radiators for these to be fitted, and they are not visible when attached.
Energy Saving Light Bulbs
Cutting your lighting bill is one of the easiest ways to save energy and money in the home. If you replacea traditional light bulb with a compact fluorescent bulb of the same brightness you will typically save £55 over the life of the bulb.
Compact Fluorescents have been improved dramatically in recent years, and now include a much faster warming up period, reduced mercury content and a much more aesthetically pleasing, compact design.
Door Brushes and Draught Proofing Strips
Draught-proofing is one of the most efficient ways to save energy and money, in any type of building.
Draughts are a bit like ventilation – both let fresh air into your home. Good ventilation helps reduce condensation and damp. But draughts are uncontrolled: they let in too much cold air and waste too much heat. Door brushes and draught proofing strips fitted to external wooden doors cover unwanted gaps that let cold air in and warm air out.
Please note we cannot draught proof uPVC doors or windows as they come fully sealed.Draught-free homes are comfortable at lower temperatures – so you’ll be able to turn down your thermostat, saving you £60 per year.
Hot Water Tank Jacket
Usually the hot water tank can be found in an airing cupboard although they can sometimes be found in the loft. Many houses in the UK have un-insulated hot water tanks which allow heat to escape unnecessarily. Fitting a hot water cylinder jacket will insulate the tank and the reduced rate of heat loss will help maintain the water temperature in the tank for longer. Heat loss from the tank can be reduced by over 75% which in turn means that you can save some pounds.
Pipe lagging is in essence simply an insulation of your hot water pipes with foam pipe wrap. Just as with hot water tank jacket it prevents heat unnecessarily escaping and can also save you a little bit of money.
Water saving devices
We can install toilet flush savers and shower savers.
Toilet flush saver is a granule-filled bag that is placed in the toilet cistern to reduce the volume of water available for each flush. The toilet flush savers that we use saves 1.2 litres of water per flush.
