Youth Employment Initiative

The Tees Valley Pathways Programme forms part of the Youth Employment Initiative.

The Groundwork North East & Cumbria Youth Team work across the Tees Valley and if you are aged 15 to 29 years old and either unemployed or inactive we can support you to progress into employment, education and training.

 We do this through: -

  • One to One support combined with an exciting set of activities which will help provide you with new skills and valuable experience.

  • Pathway Programme, which will offer you the opportunity to gain a qualification while receiving practical experience within sectors such as Horticulture, Youth Work, Marketing, Manufacturing and Business Admin.

  • Enterprise Camp Programme, which will provide you with the opportunity to explore and expand your entrepreneurial skills by participating in our exciting outward bound residential.

The Tees Valley Pathways Programme will support 8,698 young people aged 15 to 29 across the Tees Valley who are unemployed or inactive with the aim of progressing them into Education, Employment, Training or Self-Employment.

The programme is delivered by a consortium of organisations from the Public, Private and Voluntary Sector.

The overall contract value is £25.38m with £9.52m from European Social Fund, £9.52m from Youth Employment Initiative and £6.34m of Match Funding. It is part-funded by the European Social Fund and supported under the Youth Employment Initiative.
