Our major projects

Saltmill Park, Saltash, Cornwall

Formally a refuse tip, Saltmill Park is now a busy community space with stunning views over the River Tamar.

Today the 17 acre park boasts a popular skate park and BMX track, children's play area, an all-weather 3G football pitch (which opened in 2008) and a training and education centre. There is a family focussed Nature Zone to showcase the incredible wildlif, with a bird hide, butterfy and bee sanctuary. It is also home to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

If you want to book a meeting, a prty, the pitch, please get in touch!

Torbay Community Green Spaces
– putting your green space on the map

Torbay Community Green Spaces is an exciting partnership between Groundwork South and Torbay Council which supports projects in our parks and open spaces. Our Green Spaces Project Manager, Debs, works with local groups and individuals to create, protect and improve our green spaces for people and for our wildlife.

From delivering funding bids, consultations and training to supporting the mapping of species on site and the delivery of events, projects and activities, Groundwork South works with you to achieve your visions to improve the places which are important to you.

Working with 13 Friends of Torbay Parks groups and several individuals and community groups, we support Torbay communities to work collectively to make their surroundings greener, safer and healthier and to get more involved in the way decisions are made about their area.

If you are passionate about your local green space and want to get involved in getting more people using and enjoying it, or want to make space for nature or create a beautiful place for people to enjoy, we are here to help to make your project a success.
