WORKING FOR GROUNDWORK SOUTH:

Groundwork South is a member of the Federation of Groundwork Trusts, independent charities, working across the UK. Each Groundwork Trust signs up to a series of common aims, objectives and processes. Groundwork was established over three decades ago as a radical experiment to bring together communities, businesses and government in a joint effort to improve the quality of life and promote sustainable development in places that had become run-down and neglected. The principle of creating dynamic partnerships for action is still at the heart of our approach.

‘Changing places, changing lives across the South of England, one green step at a time’ is Groundwork South’s vision. Groundwork has been working with communities in the South for over 25 year, and formed as an amalgamation of several smaller local trusts to become Groundwork South in 2012. Groundwork South is passionate about creating a future where every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny and where everyone can reach their potential. By bringing people and the environment together with practical local action, we have an impact that is greater than the sum of its parts. Groundwork South has a track record at achieving effective and lasting solutions usually created at the local level in partnership with local people and organisations; to create better, greener places, to improve people’s prospects and to promote greener living and working.
