Project Officer & Project Assistant (Heathrow Community Fund)

The Heathrow Community Fund is funded by Heathrow Airport Ltd. It supports significant and positive improvement in quality of life for communities near the airport. They also support airport staff volunteering and fundraising to improve their community or for a cause they believe in.

The Project Officer will administrate the distribution of Heathrow Community Fund Grants to local groups, charities and associations.

Job Title: Project Officer (Heathrow Community Fund) Responsible to: Thames Valley Communities Programme Manager Responsible for: Zero hour staff as needed for the project Operational Area: Thames Valley Location: Denham, nr Uxbridge Salary: £18341 - £21,577 per annum Hours of work: 37.5 hours each week, Full Time Contract: Permanent

JOB SUMMARY

This role fits into the Grants Administration team and helps local groups with advice and guidance in applying for grants and involves marketing of the grant streams to ensure that eligible groups know about the grants available. The successful candidate will demonstrate an attention to detail and good communication skills and be keen to provide an excellent level of customer service both to the client and the applicants.

Main Duties

The support for applicants and the accurate collation of all applications is key to the success of this project:

  • Provide a point of contact for Heathrow Community Fund and all applicants and potential applicants to the fund.
  • Manage the applications and reports from projects, collate these and summarise for Heathrow Community Fund
  • Support Community Groups who wish to apply for a grant providing advice and guidance.
  • Monitor Grants awarded to ensure they are spent as intended and that outcomes are achieved. Providing analysis back to the client.
  • Deliver workshops and attend funding fairs as required
  • Promote the Heathrow Community Fund in the areas covered.
  • To be a proactive member of the Thames Valley Grants team.

  • Collate information from applicants and provide summaries and reports as requested.
  • Input data into spreadsheets and lists in order to keep accurate records of grants given out and projects completed.
  • To be a proactive member of the Thames Valley Grants team.
