Work Programme

The Work Programme is a Government initiative, which provides a co-ordinated package of  personalised support for claimants who need more help looking for, and staying in work.

As with many such programmes it is part funded by the European Social Fund and we are experienced in complying with strict audit requirements to secure payments.

In June 2011, the Work Programme replaced most existing back-to-work programmes, including: New Deal; Flexible New Deal Phase 1; Pathways to Work; New Deal for Disabled People; and Employment Zones.

Individuals eligible for the Work Programme are referred by Jobcentre Plus for flexible, tailored support to help them back to work. Participation on the programme is mandatory for the majority of customers, although some groups are able to volunteer.

We operate Work Programme from Coventry & Stoke-on-Trent as a sub contractor for Serco covering Engage, Enable & Empower phases.

We are delivering a flexible tailored provision for all unemployed customers referred from DWP, with the aim of supporting these customers into employment by identifying and empowering these customer to be able to remove these barriers.

Our employment engagement team frequently organise Job Fairs for our customers, strengthening our relationships with employers and maximising job opportunities in sectors specific to the delivery locations.

As well as straightforward recruitment and brokerage we offer employers a range of additional support services as follows:

  • Adult apprenticeships
  • Work trials
  • Online Accredited qualifications
  • Supporting Skills for the Unemployed (sector specific training)
  • Travel and Interview subsidy for customers
  • 3rd party support for customers with Mental Health barriers
