Community Project Assistant (Sessional)

You will need to have experience of working with children and young people, and the ability to work with partner organisations to meet local needs.  Knowledge around planning and delivering activities is vital, alongside a positive attitude and desire to work both independently and as part of a team.

As part of this team you will:

  • Assist in planning, developing and delivering after-school and holiday sessions;
  • Provide safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities for 6-12 year olds (up to 16 year olds with additional needs);
  • Build constructive and professional relationships with children and young people accessing Groundwork’s programmes with the aim of supporting their learning and personal and social development.
  • Be alert to the safeguarding of young people and children, raising any issues and concerns following the correct policies and procedures.
  • To encourage formal and informal feedback from clients on the delivery, content and structure of activities and to respond accordingly, reporting to the Project Officers / Coordinator.

 

You will need experience of working with children and young people and good communication skills.

 

A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential as all roles require regular travel across the region.
