Danni was unwell and very unhappy about the direction her life was taking her. After a car accident she decided to change her life, become more active and find out what she really wanted to do.
She became a walk leader at Groundwork West Midlands; running guided walks for community groups and parents with young children. The walking groups helped the participants to get more active and tackled isolation by bringing people together.
The guided walks were run as part of Groundwork West Midland's Active Neighbourhoods programme. It is series of projects aimed at empowering residents, in particular social housing tenants, to develop and run a programme of activities that increases use of local green space to improve physical and mental wellbeing, combat social isolation and create community cohesion.
