Education & Skills Funding Agency: Traineeships programme

Groundwork is delivering the Education & Skills Fund Agency programme of 'Traineeships' to 19-24-year olds as part of the Adult Education Budget and part funded by the European Social Fund.

The programme will support at least 174 young adults across the UK in Oldham and Rochdale, Blackpool and St Helens, Cornwall, Kent & Medway and Sussex and the London boroughs of Hackney and Newham.

The Traineeship programme will support those enrolled by giving them work experience and work preparation training in order to boost the skills and confidence needed to gain employment, an apprenticeship or to re-enroll in education. Up to six months worth of help is on offer and will be tailored to suit individual need, including:

  • Maths and English  support
  • The opportunity to complete qualifications in Construction, Horticulture, and Countryside Skills (dependent on delivery area)

The programme will run from November 2017 to July 2018.
