Green Connections Trafford
Duration: End of March 2026
Background
Green Connections Trafford is a project made of two halves; helping residents improve their wellbeing through connecting with nature, and helping residents understand the employment opportunities in the Green Economy.

What we’re doing
Using Nature to Reduce Isolation and Improve Wellbeing
We will work with 15 local residents who are experiencing low mood or isolation and invite them to take part in a 10-week programme of nature-based activities at our base, Trafford Ecology Park. The programme will give participants the opportunity to connect with nature and each other through a range of activities such as nature crafts, mindfulness sessions, and conservation projects. Participants will also be provided with lunch and, if required, transport to and from Trafford Ecology Park.
Supporting People into the Green Economy
We will engage with 20 Trafford residents aged 16 and over, providing advice and guidance on careers in the Green Economy. We will identify participants through Groundworkâs employment and wellbeing programmes, as well as through our partnership network. Once a resident has expressed an interest in a Green Economy role, our Employment Coaches will work with them on a one-to-one basis to explore opportunities and help them develop the skills needed to take their next steps into employment.
