Duration: March 2025

Background

Groundwork Greater Manchester are working in areas of Stockport and Tameside to engage and support economically inactive residents who are not currently accessing the support they need to make positive progressions towards their goals and aspirations.

What we’re doing

We’re working to reduce social isolation in Stockport and Tameside by hosting a range of group and 1-2-1 activities and support services.

Eligible residents will be able to access person-centred, one-to-one support from a Groundwork Key Worker which will enable them to participate in activities which have a positive impact on their life, address personal challenges and needs, and improve their life chances.

We will be providing a varied menu of engaging interventions, from gardening workshops to money management courses, which will address the most significant or pressing barriers to support people on their pathway into employment, training or further ongoing support.

In recognition of the particular needs of those aged 50+ and the impact of the pandemic on this age group, the programme will incorporate a specialised offer for participants aged 50+.
