Designing Healthcare Grounds: Fairfield Hospital

Groundwork’s Landscape Architects worked with the Pennine Care Trust to transform their external space at Fairfield Hospital in Bury into an attractive, functional garden space for patients.

Before:

The design included:

• Multi-use games area with covered, tensile roof and floodlights
• Outdoor gym
• Relaxation garden
• Food growing zone
• Outdoor seating space with projector

The project also improved the resilience of the hospital grounds, adding a SUDs car park.
