Groundwork East nominated for national award

Community charity Groundwork East has been nominated for FM World Not for Profit Business of the Year Award at the SME National awards.

Last year Groundwork won Noah Enterprise Best Not for Profit at the Bedfordshire SME awards, which led to their nomination at the nationals.

Groundwork has been recognised for their work to change places and the lives of people within local communities across the East of England. The charity’s work centres on engaging local people with their local environment as a way of improving their prospects and to helping enhance their local green spaces.

Their projects offer support to those who want to live healthier lifestyles, get active, gain new skills and reduce their impact on the local environment. These range from growing courses, to outdoor play, to monitoring local ecosystems and rivers.

Steve Harvey, Groundwork’s Executive Director in the East of England said “It was an honour to win in the Bedfordshire awards, and now we are thrilled to be recognised nationally for the work we’re doing to change places and lives across the East of England.”
