Groundwork East receives praise from HAFLS for work delivered across Hertfordshire

Groundwork East has received funding from Hertfordshire Adult and Family Learning Service (HAFLS) for the past five years.

HAFLS fund Groundwork to deliver courses for both adults and families across Hertfordshire. For adults, Groundwork run Get Outdoors, Get Active sessions that help people to learn new skills, meet new people, whilst being in an outdoor setting. Groundwork also runs the Sprouting Out courses that offer specific groups of people the chance to learn growing and cooking skills, including how to cook nutritional meals on a budget. For families, Groundwork offer Grow It, Cook It, Share It programmes which teach families the benefits of growing their own fresh produce and how to cook tasty nutritional meals.

Recently Groundwork was awarded Second Runner up for the ‘HAFLS’ ESFA Best Partner’ accolade. And HAFLS said the following:

“Although it is a small team delivering the ESFA contract, this partner always strives hard to make continuous improvements for the hard to reach.  Their efforts have led to an increase in learner retention – to 93% from 76% last year.  They also logged 96% progression data onto LearnerTrack.  They passed the safeguarding audit with only one action and they have very robust procedures in place which is reassuring as they also work on the BBO project.  They have made other changes to benefit learners like translating ILPs into other languages.  They have engaged with the MI User group and are proactive in completing any actions required by HAFLS.  Well done Groundwork.”
