Due to Government restrictions in place, a number of Groundwork East’s services and projects are currently suspended.
As such, a proportion of our team are in furlough from 1 April 2020; allowing us to protect jobs and to delay project work for a future date.
There are however many other mechanisms of remote engagement, education and empowerment and Groundwork feels access to support is now ever more pressing. Details of each project or service area is listed below; we will strive to keep this up to date as changes develop.
For information on nationally coordinated grants such as Tesco Bags of Help and the Comic Relief community grants please see here.
Community & Education
Some face-to-face work is suspended, but community groups and organisations can still apply for grants. Contact your local enabler for support:

- Carolyn Mallott (Hertfordshire)
- Chris Dungate (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire)
We are also continuing to run remote community engagement campaigns.
Grow It, Cook It, Share It
Thanks to funding from Hertfordshire Adult and Family Learning Service (HAFLS), we are now able to run the following free courses for families:
- Grow It, Cook It, Share It – Learn how to grow your own at home, and make simple healthy recipes together.
- Family Outdoor Play – Learn a variety of simple themed activities to keep active and entertained this Summer
