In response to increasing youth unemployment, the Government has committed £2 billion to the Kickstart Scheme, designed to create thousands of paid 6-month work placements, and Groundwork nationally is thrilled to be part of the scheme.

Communications Assistant based in Ipswich

The Digital Communications Assistant will help shape the organisation’s messages and showcase its activity though social media, websites, blogs, film, photography and email. The post holder will be encouraged to look for new digital communication opportunities and work creatively as part of the development team to produce fresh, innovative content that can be used across digital platforms.

We are seeking an individual with excellent written and spoken communication skills who enjoys communicating through digital channels. Strong IT skills are essential and the post-holder must be comfortable providing technical guidance to colleges which will support the delivery of  projects and campaigns. An approachable manner will be essential, as will the ability to operate under pressure. The role is part of a small, dedicated team working within a larger Charity and thus the ability to clearly understand how local digital communications fit into the organisation’s mission at a national level is essential.

Funding and Database Assistant based in Hatfield

The Funding & Database Assistant will help the Trust use its contacts and project knowledge to its fullest potential to expand on the work that we can deliver and the people we can help.  The role will also support the development team to research and prepare funding bids and proposals as well as think creatively about opportunities to raise the profile of the organisation’ activities across the East of England.  There may be the possibility if involvement in the creation of campaign materials if skills are appropriate.

We are seeking an individual with an analytical mind, excellent organisation skills and with an interest in community and environmental issues.  The role is part of a small dedicated team working within a larger Charity and thus the ability to work effectively in this environment is needed. Training on HubSpot will be given but some familiarity with databases will be advantageous, and a good level of computer-literacy.

Project Assistant based in Hatfield

The Project Assistant will work within a team of community officers delivering a wide programme of activity including family learning and outdoor play; gardening support to vulnerable and disabled residents; horticultural projects; community engagement and practical green space improvements.  The role will support community consultations, working with volunteers undertaking practical tasks including vulnerable adults.

We are seeking an individual with excellent communication skills, well organised and with an interest in community and environmental issues.  The role is part of a small dedicated team working within a larger Charity and thus the ability to work effectively in this environment is needed.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Project Assistant based in Ipswich

The Project Assistant will be tasked with helping support and drive membership of the Carbon Charter programme via telephone and email, update the website and support the manager with processes and keeping accurate records.

We are seeking an individual with fantastic organisation skills as well as someone that is a great communicator. An approachable telephone manner will be essential, as will the ability to operate under pressure. The role is part of a small dedicated team working within a larger Charity and thus the ability to work effectively in this environment is needed.
