New funding opportunity for organisations responding to those in need post COVID-19

An exciting funding opportunity is now open to help organisations respond to the impacts of COVID-19.

The funding – from Comic Relief and administered by community charity Groundwork East – helps grass roots, not for profit voluntary or community organisations (including registered charities/companies). It is for those supporting people within the following groups:

  • Children Survive & Thrive: projects that support children up to the age of 11 years to reach their potential and have the best start in life.
  • Fighting for Gender Justice: projects that improve equality for women, girls and initiatives that help people affected by domestic violence, abuse or exploitation due to their gender.
  • A Safe Place to Be: projects that support people who are rebuilding their lives because of homelessness or forced migration.
  • Mental Health Matters: projects that support good mental health in communities, improve access to support and tackle stigma and discrimination.

There are two types of funding available – Project Delivery; up to £4000 available to deliver a specific project; and Capacity Building; up to £1000 is available to help organisations to become more robust, better able to deliver projects and bring about lasting change.

Money has been made available specifically for organisations within Suffolk and Norfolk and successful groups will have 6 -12 months in which to spend the money awarded.
