Frickley & Fryston Country Trails

Fryston Country Trail

Our Countryside Park Rangers team manage open spaces like Frickley. They ensure the maintenance, conservation and accessibility of parks for local people.

The Land Trust owns Fryston Country Trails and Frickley Country Park. Since September 2013, we have been the Managing Agents. Both these began as reclaimed collieries. Now transformed to create large open meadows, and wetlands. We are developing woods, and recreational space. As well as extensive paths and bridleways.

The sites’ locations means they serve many people. They act as doorsteps to the natural world. An introduction to its understanding and appreciation.

Both sites host various activities and events. Through these the Park Rangers help to enhance the natural environment. To engage local communities, schools and businesses.

  • educational workshops
  • events and open days
  • conservation volunteering
  • health walks
  • nature walks
  • habitat and wildlife surveys
