Our Groundwork Youth project supports young people to raise awareness and take action on local and global environmental issues by providing them with opportunities and experiences that develop their leadership potential and creative responses to environmental and social issues.
Groundwork Youth Advisory Board
At Groundwork we put young people at the centre of everything we do. Our goal is to help young people to play a full and active role in their communities.
We’re committed to youth participation and ensuring our projects, programmes and campaigns are informed and led by young people. Our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is vital to supporting us to meet this goal.
The Groundwork YAB -made up of 18 young people- work closely with us for up to two years on a range of strategic issues and by participating in our business planning, programme design and campaign development, shaping the way we operate as an organisation.
We welcome young people with a range of experience to the YAB. Ideally, those involved will already have experience of volunteering, designing projects, taking part in campaigns or representing young people e.g. school councils or clubs.
Groundwork’s Youth Advisory Board enables young people to see behind the scenes of a national charity and develop leadership skills by sharing opinions and experiences with Groundwork. Young people have the opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds and take part in various training opportunities, meetings and project visits.
