Today, Groundwork’s CEO, Graham Duxbury, has signed a letter from the Inequalities Health Alliance to the Prime Minister, calling for a cross-government strategy to tackle health inequality. This is an issue that disproportionately affects the most disadvantaged communities, including many of the people Groundwork works with every day.

Groundwork exists to help communities create healthier, happier and greener neighbourhoods. Alongside other members of the Inequalities in Health Alliance, we’re calling on the government to commit to a cross-government strategy on health inequalities. We know from decades of working with communities that the stark differences in health that exist today are as avoidable as they are unfair. We are particularly concerned about the impact of climate change and unequal access to nature on health and wellbeing and urge the government to include these as part of its future strategy.
