Are you passionate about young people and keen to play a pivotal role in our Under 11’s wellbeing service, providing early intervention and prevention to improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people across the London Borough of Southwark?

Groundwork London works with communities across the capital to transform their lives and the places they live. We have been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 25 years, and today we have a simple mission: to create better places, improve people’s prospects, and promote greener living and working. We are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny, and no-one is held back by their background or circumstance.

The Nest is Groundwork London’s mental wellbeing support service for young people aged 0 – 25 and living in the London Borough of Southwark. Since launching as a remote service in May of 2020, in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic, The Nest has gone from strength to strength and we are looking for a passionate, experienced, skilled and driven individual to deliver creative group therapies to young people.

The Practitioner will deliver small group and 1:1 sessions to young people in primary schools across Southwark. This role will involve lone working, and development of a programme which suits both the candidates’ skills and experience, and the needs of young people who are struggling with their mental wellbeing.

To build on the work we have already delivered for this cohort in Southwark, we are seeking applications from those with the training and experience in delivering creative therapies, i.e. Art/Music/Drama/Play therapy.

Key requirements: Please contact us if you have:

  • Experience working with young people under 11.
  • Experience delivering creative group and 1:2:1 therapies for young people.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the barriers children and families face when accessing support
  • An awareness of working to safeguard children, including relevant training
