Development Officer (part-time)

£6,882 – £8,180 per annum (pro rata of £17,206 – £20,452)
14.5 hours per week. Based in Leigh.

Post from: September 2019 until March 2020 (possible extension until July 2020 – subject to funding)

We are recruiting a part time Development Officer to join our team and deliver the Roots to Wellbeing programme in Leigh.   The role will include recruiting unemployed individuals and working with referral agencies and partners.

Roots to Wellbeing is a personal development programme targeted at long term unemployed individuals with complex barriers. It provides individuals with the vital skills and coping mechanisms to be able to make the transition into volunteering, education, employment or training. The programme helps build confidence and resilience whilst creating peer support through a team environment.

Groundwork is a charitable trust that has been working to build more sustainable communities since 1984.   We do this by helping people and organisations to create better neighbourhoods, to build their skills and job prospects, and to live and work in a greener way.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of the programme and supporting eligible working age individuals to increase their employability skills and move them closer to and into employment and training.

If you’re an enthusiastic motivator, enjoy a challenge and would be a great role model to others, then this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives.

If you feel that you possess the essential skills outlined in the Person Specification, then we would welcome your application.

The positions are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
