Salary:             Circa £24,000 – £26,000 per annum

Hours:             37.5 hours 

The Integrating Migrant People through Activities to Connect & Thrive (IMPACT) project aims to support 600 migrants (Third Country Nationals) by assisting them to integrate into UK society through a programme of holistic activities, coordinated and delivered through 3 key areas: Language, Preparation for Work and Cultural/Community activities. IMPACT will be delivered in two areas, West London and Bristol, and is funded by AMIF (the EU’s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund).

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Employment Adviser to lead on delivering group and 121 IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance) sessions, employability skills training, careers advice and pastoral care, under the Preparation for Work strand, for Third Country Nationals (TCNs). The Employment Adviser will be working with individuals who may face multiple barriers or lack the motivation to access employment and will need to develop their confidence and belief in the benefits of working life and in further education and training.

The successful candidate will have a level 3 or 4 NVQ qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance or equivalent, or relevant experience which should be detailed in the application form. They will have a successful track record in communicating effectively and providing support to different client groups in a range of settings and are able to motivate and inspire people facing multiple barriers to training and employment through the delivery of quality IAQ sessions. Being able to speak Levantine Arabic is desirable but not essential.

Main duties:

  • Lead on delivering group and 121 IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance) sessions, employability skills training, careers advice and pastoral care, under the Preparation for Work strand, for Third Country Nationals (TCNs).
  • In doing so, support refugees to integrate into their communities in line with IMPACT programme objectives.
  • Be open to contributing to the delivery of a wide range of projects and programmes within the Groundwork South Bristol portfolio, including sharing experiences from IMPACT with other staff.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality community work, in line with the requirements of funders and partners.
  • Ensure professional best practice and compliance with internal finance, project management systems and procedures.
