Salary:       £23,500 per annum

Hours:       37.5 hours per week

Groundwork South have been working in Hastings and St Leonards over the last four years and currently are delivering innovative partnership projects across Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve (HCPNR) and Combe Valley Countryside Park including Hidden Hastings Heritage and the development of the new straw bale constructed Visitor Centre, ‘The Bale House’.

Greener Futures is an exciting new CHART (Connecting Hastings and Rother Together) project being delivered by Groundwork South in Hastings Town Centre and Central St Leonards, North East Hastings, Ore Valley and Hollington. Over the next two years Greener Futures will support residents who are the most vulnerable/furthest from being able to access employment to move closer to the labour market/access work and also support any CHART area residents who wish to get involved in volunteering on green space improvements to boost their health and wellbeing.

The Engagement & Wellbeing Advisor is a vital link between workless residents and potential engagement and wellbeing opportunities available to them through Groundwork South’s programmes. Groundwork’s employment programmes work with 16-18 year old as well as adults.

Main Duties

1. Delivery & Activities Coordination

  • Work with the volunteer coordinator, Employment Advisors and trainer to establish and deliver a programme of environmental volunteering activities that assist in the wellbeing of the participants.
  • Work with clients to improve their wellbeing holistically throughout the programme.
  • Establish and implement a self-assessment system to enable participants to consider and report on improved wellbeing.
  • To establish referral routes with other local projects and services to ensure a wraparound provision for our participants.

2. Building Partnerships

  • Lead stakeholder analysis and mapping to identify key engagement & wellbeing partners including Hastings and Rother wide organisations and local organisations.
  • Work with the programme manager to establish, maintain and develop effective working relationships and partnerships with key external stakeholders and partners.
  • Attend local events and locations to promote the programme.

3. Community Outreach

  • Manage, plan and deliver a range of successful interactive and creative engagements events.

4. Communications and Promotion

  • Support the programme manager and Groundwork Marketing and Communications team to establish a programme brand.
  • Support the programme manager and Groundwork Marketing and Communications team to establish and execute a programme communications plan.
  • Oversee the design, creation and use of promotional materials to ensure effective outreach and project promotion, including flyers, banners, posters & etc.
