Health Champion Project Manager

Location: Working from home during COVID-19 social distancing measures. Angel/Barnet office working at the appropriate time

Contract: Fixed, until end September 2021

Salary: £28-30,000 p.a

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Barnet Covid-19 Health Champions’ project aims to effectively communicate Covid-19 messages and the latest government guidance to protect the health of Banet’s diverse community. The project will recruit, induct and support a network of Health Champions enabling them to disseminate the latest health messages to their family, friends, neighbours and communities.

The postholder will play an integral role in the set-up, execution and ongoing evaluation of this project. Responsibilities include:

  1. Recruitment and induction of ‘volunteer’ health champions, representative of the diverse communities across Barnet, connecting with stakeholders including Barnet Together and the voluntary community and faith sectors.
  2. Lead the health champions network through set up and maintenance of a series of communication channels, including WhatsApp, website, email, resources bank and Zoom workshops to share the latest information, messages and gather insight.
  3. Work in Partnership with the London Borough of Barnet and Public Health teams to agree priority messaging and content production.
  4. Oversee production of all communication assets, including infographics, printed and digital media content working with LB Barnet and graphic design consultants.

The successful postholder will enjoy working on fast-moving, target driven projects and have the proven ability to work flexibly to meet the evolving needs of a project. You will be a strong project leader, able to work effectively with a multi-disciplined team and have demonstrable skills in partner liaison, management and networking.

You will be confident in the use of a range of digital engagement tools, such as WhatsApp Broadcast, Trello and Zoom and be an accomplished written and verbal communicator. Flexible working hours are essential within the role, as a team, to ensure communication platforms have oversight 7 days per week.
